Who We Are
The Date: December 31st. The Year: 2000 AD. The Event: our first worship service as the South Wake Church of Christ.
Our initial meetings were held from house to house among the seven families originally making up this congregation of the Lord’s people. From our humble beginnings, the Lord has prospered us by affording us a more permanent place to meet. First, on Hwy 401 South in Garner, then to our current location on Donmoor Court, where we have resided since November of 2001 and continue looking forward to many more years as the Lord wills.
This congregation was formed based on New Testament teaching. Our goal is to be like the New Testament church built by Christ:
Matthew 16:18-19 KJV
And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
We endeavor to be a Bible-centered church whose practices are emulated from the commandments, examples, and inferences found in the New Testament. We believe this is a worthy goal that would be pleasing to God.
Colossians 3:17 KJV
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him
Our mission is to become as strong as the Church was in its beginning. We desire to grow in the strength and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ in every way.
Colossians 1:9-11 KJV
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness
It is our prayer to share the gospel in the Garner area and throughout the world.

We know that God’s word is the source of all truth,

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
and we strive to worship Him according to His will and His word.
John 4:23-24 KJV
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
